Why Hillary Clinton Lost the Rust Belt

Welcome back, friends.

You’re hearing a lot of talk from political “experts” in the media wondering how President-Elect Donald J. Trump was able to take a Rust Belt strategy to the Presidency.  The key to President Trump’s strategy lied in capitalizing on voters disenfranchised by the Democrats themselves, and actually was a move of sheer brilliance.

Late into last night, you were hearing shock that Michigan and Wisconsin were both in play for Trump.  The keys to Michigan and Wisconsin were laid at the Democratic National Convention, as Democratic voters from both states felt disenfranchised by what they felt was a corrupt process in selection.

Bernie Sanders won both Michigan and Wisconsin, and he won Wisconsin by a significant margin.  However, due to superdelegate support that refused to flip from Clinton, Sanders actually LOST Michigan by delegate count by *15* votes, and only netted 4 delegates for his victory in Wisconsin.

Social media during this time was exceedingly volatile.  I wrote a piece on July 27, 2016 slamming liberals for being proud of our convention as we so willingly embraced known corruption.  We had the communications, we had the financials, and voters in seven different states saw themselves come out to vote for their candidate and be told “Well, we know you voted for him, but you lost your state.”

Here’s the math from those seven states where Bernie won primary contests and lost when it mattered, as I wrote on July 27:

Indiana: Bernie won the vote, 52.5%-47.5% – won by ~32,000 votes. Roll-Call Delegates: HRC 48 – 43 BS.

Michigan: Bernie won the vote, 49.8%-48.3% – won by ~19,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 81 – 66 BS.

Montana: Bernie won the vote, 51.1%-44.6% – won by ~8,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 14 – 12 BS.

New Hampshire: Bernie won the vote, 60.4%-38.0% – won by ~55,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 16 – 16 BS.

Rhode Island: Bernie won the vote, 55.0%-43.3% – won by ~14,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 19 – 13 BS.

West Virginia: Bernie won the vote, 51.4%-35.8% – won by ~35,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 19 – 18 BS.

Wyoming: Bernie won the vote, 55.7%-44.3% – won by 34 votes (only 280 recorded?) Roll Call Delegates: HRC 11 – 7 BS.

Michigan, Montana, Indiana, West Virginia, Wyoming. Five out of seven states where Bernie won primary contests and Hillary failed to get out the vote and sacrificed significant ground to our eventual President-Elect. Bernie also won Wisconsin, but again, only netted 4 delegates — even with a 13.5 point victory!

If the Democrats are trying to tell you that they didn’t hear the millions of people speaking about the corrupt process that went into the Democratic nomination, then they really were too dense to win this campaign. #DropOutHillary, #NeverHillary, and #DemExit were real things. Everyone on social media saw these things.

Don’t let the Democrats tell you they didn’t see it. Most of the reason why Donald J. Trump won the Rust Belt, and the election, are all right here. When you tell someone that you don’t respect their vote, don’t be surprised when they vote elsewhere. A lot of us still voted for Hillary, but can you really expect someone who has been disenfranchised to tell you that they will support you after you’ve already disenfranchised them?

This wasn’t about the third-party vote, it was about a significant portion of the populace that clearly said they would not support Hillary after the DNC. I warned you then, and it came true.

Don’t blame me, I voted for Bernie.

Donald J. Trump and “The Button.”

Welcome back, friends!

I have been seeing something on social media that is incredibly alarming, and I feel the need to correct what is apparently a common misconception.

What is alarming is how many people are unaware of our government’s procedures regarding the deployment of nuclear weapons.  Most people I see on social media are under the misconception that launching a nuclear weapon is a process that requires the approval of generals and commanders down the chain of command — or that requires the approval of Congress.  This is not the case.

National Command Authority

The National Command Authority (NCA) is a term used in America by the Department of Defense (DOD) which refers to the ultimate lawful sources of military orders.  It consists of the President of the United States, acting as Commander-In-Chief of the United States, in concert with the Secretary of Defense, or their duly deputized successors. (The Vice President and the Deputy Secretary of Defense)  This term also refers to communications with the commanding officers of the Unified Combatant Commands to put U.S. forces into action.

Section 3.1, Department of Defense Directive Number 5100.30 December 2, 1971 reads:

The NCA consists only of the President and the Secretary of Defense or their duly deputized alternates or successors. The chain of command runs from the President to the Secretary of Defense (SecDef) and through the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the Commanders of the Unified and Specified Commands. The channel of communication for execution of the Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP) and other time-sensitive operations shall be from the NCA through the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, representing the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to the executing commanders.

Deployment of Nuclear Weapons

No one but the President of the United States can direct the use of nuclear weapons, including the  Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP).  The President of the United States has the unilateral authority to order the deployment of nuclear weapons for ANY reason and at ANY time, but his order is subject to a “two-man rule” and must be given a secondary confirmation by the Secretary of Defense.

If the Secretary of Defense does not concur with the order, then the President of the United States, in his sole discretion, can fire the Secretary.  While the Secretary of Defense has the legal authority to approve the order, he cannot veto it.

What does this mean?

The system for the deployment of nukes has to be simple and expedient in the case of a surprise nuclear attack.   Former United States National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski has said that, during what was later determined to be a “false alarm” regarding a possible nuclear attack, he only had three minutes to decide whether to notify the President of the potential attack.  In that scenario, the President would have had four additional minutes to decide to order a retaliatory strike.

There is little time to react in the case of a surprise nuclear attack, so the ability for the President to deploy our weapons quickly is of the essence.  It isn’t a scenario where there are time to find several generals or convene Congress.  If the President of the United States has decided to use nuclear weapons, there is only the one check against him doing so.

The Secretary of Defense is a Cabinet position, which means that the President of the United States appoints him with the advice and consent of the Senate.  Are you prepared to have only one person, who Donald J. Trump himself would appoint, between Donald J. Trump and “The Button?”

Donald Trump already has spoken at length regarding the use of nuclear weapons, and they show him as someone who absolutely must not be trusted with this awesome capability.  He has said that above else, we must be unpredictable with nuclear weapons, and he has said he was prepared to allow Japan and South Korea to become nuclear powers.  Mr. Trump is a man who has said he will not rule out using nuclear weapons on ISIS.  Donald has said, in regards to Europe, that its a “big place” and “I’m not going to take anything off the table.”

Most importantly, Donald J. Trump has asked why we have nuclear weapons if we aren’t going to use them?

We have them as an absolute last resort, Mr. Trump.  We have them as a deterrent, using the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD).  We have them only to maintain our security, and not to threaten those that mean to harm us.

The United States of America is still the only nation in the history of the world to deploy a nuclear weapon offensively.  The destruction of those attacks still affects our world today, and no one who would regard their awesome power in the way Donald Trump does should ever be anywhere the nuclear football.

I would not vote for Donald J. Trump for President strictly because of his stance on the proliferation and usage of nuclear weapons.  I encourage you to not only think of your own safety this Tuesday, but the safety and stability of our global environment, and refuse to vote Donald J. Trump for President.

Stop Being PROUD of this DNC, “Liberals!”

This post was originally written as a response to a comment on a story from ReverbPress titled “10 Tweets About the DNC That Will Make You Proud To Be Liberal” and shared on the Facebook page “Too Informed to Vote Republican.”  My comment:

“Well, looks like I can delete this page. You idiots don’t have the slightest clue what it means to be liberal, that’s apparent.”  I then had commenter Kim Degenstein say  “Jason I suppose you back Putin’s puppet Trump.”

I continued to respond:

“Of course not.  But if you’re “proud” of a convention that we now know is built on corruption, unfairness, bias, and likely criminality, then you shouldn’t be calling yourself liberal.”

NOTHING about this DNC has made it POSSIBLE to be PROUD to be a liberal.

Ask yourself if you’re “proud” of a process that had Sanders actually LOSE the delegate count in roll call vote in *7* States he WON.

Indiana: Bernie won the vote, 52.5%-47.5% – won by ~32,000 votes. Roll-Call Delegates: HRC 48 – 43 BS.

Michigan: Bernie won the vote, 49.8%-48.3% – won by ~19,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 81 – 66 BS.

Montana: Bernie won the vote, 51.1%-44.6% – won by ~8,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 14 – 12 BS.

New Hampshire: Bernie won the vote, 60.4%-38.0% – won by ~55,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 16 – 16 BS.

Rhode Island: Bernie won the vote, 55.0%-43.3% – won by ~14,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 19 – 13 BS.

West Virginia: Bernie won the vote, 51.4%-35.8% – won by ~35,000 votes. Roll Call Delegates: HRC 19 – 18 BS.

Wyoming: Bernie won the vote, 55.7%-44.3% – won by 34 votes (only 280 recorded?) Roll Call Delegates: HRC 11 – 7 BS.

There were a total of 713 named superdelegates, with 55 known abstentions. Most of those superdelegates were being counted by the media as official THE ENTIRE ELECTION, completely swinging it.

If the superdelegates had wanted to actually not nominate a criminal, there was EASILY enough room for Sanders to have been nominated if not for the corrupt system of the DNC. With all of the proof of corruption over the last few days, hopefully you can at least acknowledge that there is nothing democratic about what I have posted to you here.

When you look at every instance of bias, unfairness, corruption, and likely criminal actions, there’s absolutely nothing to be proud of as liberals.  Instead, people who are supposed to be liberal thought leaders are buying into the spin that this is all a Russian plot to destroy America.  Three days later, and are we discussing the corruption of the Democratic National Committee?  No, “Russia” is trending on Twitter, and it is like the Democrats expect you to take Debbie Wasserman-Schultz falling on her sword, and an apology to make you forget the entire thing.

Proud of that?  Never.

Election figures provided by the AP, CNN, and

It’s Not a Russian Problem…It’s a Corruption Problem.

Ever since the release of the Democratic National Committee e-mails by Wikileaks, you’ve been hearing some pretty basic spin control, and I hope you folks aren’t being fooled by it.

Did you ever hear a denial of any of the emails being absolutely authentic?  No.

Did you ever hear a denial by any of the powers-that-be in the DNC that they had partaken in these activities?  No.

Within hours of the release of the leaks by Wikileaks, there were already counter-stories being planted that these DNC leaks were hacks done by Russian sources.  And you know what?  It could have absolutely been Russian hackers that did the job and provided the intelligence to Julian Assange and Wikileaks.

However, instead of talking more about the repugnant and corrupt actions of the Democratic National Committee, the media machine were able to spin a lot of the narrative to “Well, we could be being attacked by Russia, and Trump and Putin are friends, so…”

Why are you folks buying this?  Espionage at the international level occurs daily.  Do you see your elections being stolen on a daily basis?  We just saw the Chair of the DNC fall on her sword and immediately be swallowed into the corrupt Clinton apparatus, and alarm bells aren’t ringing with you #ImWithHer folks?  The amazing part is the surface hasn’t even been scratched on this information yet, as there is financial data in the leaks.  There are literally hundreds of attachments such as spreadsheets with data that is currently being mined, and Julian Assange has already stated that there is more information yet to come, and more serious information than what has already been released.

This is just more spin from a corrupt person in Hillary Rodham Clinton, and she and her team have been doing this for decades now.  Usually, you’ve always heard that every controversy against Hillary Clinton was a right-wing fabrication, now that it is a more serious infraction, it’s the Russians coming to mess with her!

I really hope that my fellow American citizens, especially my fellow liberals, wake up and smell the reality of what they have just wrought.  Instead, I think it is far more likely that they will blame us when she loses to Donald Trump — instead of realizing just how amazingly flawed of a candidate they saddled the party with.

I will be doing exhaustive research into the DNC Leaks and any further information leaked by Julian Assange and Wikileaks and I’ll be beginning to make presentations here in the very near future.

Thank you for reading this, and I hope that you will stay cognizant and alert to all that is going on around this election.  Keep supporting progressive values, and don’t allow yourself to be subverted by the mainstream media.

The False Narratives of the #ImWithHer Crew!

The supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders have literally heard it all over the last few weeks.

The political climate on the left has been growing particularly nasty since Senator Sanders has made it clear that he intends to fight for every vote and into the 2016 Democratic National Convention against Secretary Clinton. Both sides are passionate, but the ability to hold a civil conversation is one of the main issues standing in the way of positive dialogue on the left, and a lot of it is because of the use of false narratives. We’ll look to debunk some of those false narratives in this article!

False Narrative #1: “You don’t support her because she’s a woman!”

Out of all the narratives I’ve heard lately, this is one of the most insulting.  It’s more insulting because Hillary herself has added fuel to this fire with her own quote in an April interview with Politico.

“But the campaigning part is hard for me. … Some of this may be personal to me [and] from all the literature I’ve read, [it] may be gender-linked …

I do not know a single progressive who would refuse to vote for Secretary Clinton based on the fact that she is a woman.  What is even more preposterous about it is the fact that most of the people that strongly oppose her look at Senator Elizabeth Warren as a savior in the flesh!   I’m quite sure Senator Warren identifies as a female, and I’m even more sure that someone’s gender identity will never make an impact on who I feel is the best person for the job.  Sure, there may be a scattered few that would make a voting decision on some ridiculous terms — but there are surely some Clinton supporters who won’t vote for Bernie because he’s Jewish, and you certainly don’t see this narrative coming out of the Sanders support.

Those that would spread this false narrative also point towards the avalanche of negativity toward Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz as another sign of the “Misogynist Bernie Bot” when in actuality the progressives that speak against the DNC Chair do so because they feel she’s a corrupt and horrible politician, NOT because of her gender.

False Narrative #2: “All of your criticisms of Secretary Clinton are based on right-wing lies!”

I’ve been a politically aware and active person for almost my entire life.  Even before I was of age to vote I was aware of what was going on in my country and with our leaders.  It was most likely because of my father’s illness and death — and the politically charged issues that surrounded it, such as issues with the VA and trying to acquire both information about Agent Orange poisoning and support dealing with it.

I’ve been paying attention to our country’s politics for over 25 years now, and I’ve been a registered Democrat since the first day I was eligible to register.  I took extra government classes in high school, and I majored in political science in college.

Do you REALLY think I don’t know  Secretary Clinton’s record and do you really think I’ve never listened to her speak?

Do you think I haven’t seen Secretary Clinton get a “Full Flop” from Politifact in regards to her position on the TPP?  It’s public record.

“This TPP sets the gold standard in trade agreements to open free, transparent, fair trade, the kind of environment that has the rule of law and a level playing field,” Clinton said then. “And when negotiated, this agreement will cover 40 percent of the world’s total trade and build in strong protections for workers and the environment.”

Do you really think we’re uninformed on Secretary Clinton’s stance as a true hawk? She’s done nothing but establish hard-power credentials her entire political career. Let’s not forget, early in the campaign, she has already pledged to arm Israel even further, and to increase the American military presence around Iran if she is elected President.

“I wouldn’t support his agreement for one second if I thought it put Israel in greater danger,” she said. “I know well that the same forces that threaten Israel, threaten the United States. To the people of Israel, you will never have to question whether we are with you. The United States will always be with you.” Hillary Clinton, speaking on the Iran nuclear deal and its impact on Israel.

Most Americans, especially those in war-torn families from other unnecessary conflicts, are tired of war…they’re also tired of feeling like the interests of Israel and the security of Israeli citizens is placed over their own. Clinton is very clear that she intends to increase our presence in the Middle East, and it isn’t some “right-wing lie” — she is firmly on the record as presenting herself as stronger and more ready to use military force than President Barack Obama ever was.

Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, these are just the conflicts in which Hillary Clinton has played some part in recent history!  There is much on the record of her being an incorrigible warmonger all the way back to her husband’s Presidency.

False Narrative #3: “The current FBI investigation is meaningless!”

I’m old enough to remember a time when being under federal investigation would not only be a black mark on a Presidential campaign, it would pretty much preclude the person being investigated from running at all.  Secretary Clinton doesn’t think it should weigh on your mind at all, with former President Bill Clinton even remarking last week that it was “a game.”

I have no problem speaking for the majority of Americans when I tell you that the handling and protection of our most valuable secrets is no game.  For at least the first three months of her tenure, not only was her server unsecured, she was not even using encrypted email!  Even an amateur hacker could have easily gained access to some of our most valuable secrets — this is NOT A GAME.

There isn’t a security expert alive that doesn’t recommend encryption and authentication protocols… FOR EVERYONE, much less the head of the U.S. State Department!  During this three-month time frame where some of our secrets could have literally been floating in the breeze, the Secretary visited ELEVEN foreign locales!  Do you possibly think that the Secretary of State of the United States of America MIGHT draw some attention from people looking to gain an edge on the Americans?

Just for a moment, I’ll stipulate that she isn’t indicted for mishandling our secrets — that decision hasn’t been handed down yet!  As of right now, she should not be cheapening the work of our nation’s premier law enforcement agency by having her husband claiming their work to be a game.  Another important point to note is that James B. Comey, Director of the FBI, is not a Democrat and has no interest in the salvation of the Democratic Party.  He’s there to enforce the law.

If you want to choose to believe that Secretary Clinton has done nothing wrong in this regard, then that is your right — but please don’t claim that this is meaningless and not something that we should be discussing while we try to pick a President.

False Narrative #4: “Bernie Sanders won’t be able to get any of his ideas through Congress!”

I must admit, this false narrative isn’t pushed by only Clinton supporters, but also very hard by the right.  This one is baffling, as absolutely no one knows what the makeup of our Congress will be in 2017!

Out of 535 voting members of Congress, 469 seats are up for election!  That means that 88% of the Congress could be changing in this November 2016 election!  Thirty-four Senate seats and ALL 435 seats in the House of Representatives are in play, so anyone who tells you how ANY candidate will fare with the Congress must have a very nice crystal ball!

If there’s anything we DO know about the incoming Congress, it is that the left needs HUGE turnouts all over the country to ensure that our country doesn’t stay stagnant with the horribly destructive obstruction that has been perpetrated by the right for the majority of President Obama’s tenure.  The Congressional races are quite possibly more important than who we elect as our next Commander-In-Chief.

False Narrative #5: “Hillary is inevitable, Bernie should just give up!”

This is simply not true, as she still has a near impossible task to clinch enough delegates before the convention.  Even though the media has been instructed by the DNC themselves NOT to count super-delegates in the totals, the media continues to incorrectly  list super-delegates in their coverage.  The only delegates that should be considered at this time are the actual pledged delegate numbers which are awarded from the primaries.  Super-delegates do NOT vote until the convention in late July, and even if they’ve pledged support for one of the candidate at this point in time, they can and do flip.

The current pledged delegate totals are 1,705 for Secretary Clinton and 1,415 for Senator Sanders.  To clinch the nomination one needs 2,382 delegates, and for even a simple majority a candidate needs 2,026.  As you can see, while Clinton has a solid lead, she is extremely far from clinching the nomination and still over 300 delegates away from even a simple majority.

THIS is why Sanders is still fighting for every vote and for every delegate, and why any insinuations that he should retire from the race are definitely premature and unfounded.  Secretary Clinton herself has been in the same type of scenario as Senator Sanders is in right now, in 2008, and she was very vocal that she couldn’t understand why so many people thought she should drop out of the race.  She even ridiculously said that “Robert Kennedy was assassinated in June” as reasoning to stay in the race against President Barack Obama.  She also scoffed at party unity in the same interview, so the narrative that is being spread by the #ImWithHer crew that this campaign is actively hurting the party and that we should unite behind Hillary is, quite frankly, absurd.

Here’s video of Clinton both rejecting the idea of party unity AND mentioning the assassination of RFK both in the same video, before anyone tells me this is just another “right-wing myth.”

Supporters of Hillary Clinton are doing themselves no favors by acting as if the supporters of Senator Sanders are unable to see through these false narratives.  Those Progressive Democrats have done their research, and they do more every day as they stay abreast of everything that is going on in this campaign.  They pride themselves on being able to find the truth and fighting for what is right for ALL Americans.

Secretary Clinton and her supporters would do well to do the same, especially if they harbor any delusions of the Progressive Left being there for her, especially as we couldn’t be more vocal about the fact that we WILL NOT support her.  If she were to be the nominee, she would have to do some serious soul-searching and realize what the electorate wants, and it isn’t the status quo.

That just won’t do anymore, and neither will the false narratives.  Get informed.

20 Years a Democrat – My Escape from “The Lesser Evil”

I’m celebrating a big anniversary this year.

Yes, I’ll be 38 years old in July, and while I long ago stopped caring about my birthday, I do care about the anniversary coming up.

My birthday this year marks my twentieth year as a registered voter, and as the title says, a registered Democrat. This was always hugely important to me because of my father. My father was a Gunnery Sergeant in the Marines, and he told me “men like me fought and died for you to vote, so you better damned well do it.” Dad passed at the age of 42 in 1989 from the Agent Orange his own government killed him with, so his words always meant more that little bit more to me on the topic of government and voting.

The saddest part about this anniversary is that I think it’ll be the last one before the divorce. You see, I don’t think the leadership or the actions of those who are making the decisions for our party are thinking about Democrats like me at all.

I remember a wide-eyed 18-year-old man who was so excited to be able to vote in the 1996 Election. I was proud that I was going to help elect the man who would be the first two-term Democratic President since FDR. Yes, I was proud to say that I voted for President Bill Clinton, even with the Whitewater scandal… That young Democrat was told that this scandal was a manufactured Republican lie, and worse, it was mainly aimed at the President’s WIFE of all things.

That President’s wife, of course, is Democratic “front-runner” Hillary Rodham Clinton.

That was just the first scandal that really hit on the American consciousness, as of course, President Clinton was impeached in that second term. Even though he was acquitted, the stain of Clinton scandal had just begun to pervade the American psyche. Whitewater. Lewinsky. The Clinton Foundation. Paula Jones. The list goes on…

Do you know how many years I’ve been hearing that every criticism of Hillary Clinton is a Republican farce of the highest order? It’s one of the main talking points of her current supporters, the #ImWithHer crew. If you talk poorly about Hillary Clinton on the internet, you can expect to be told that you are peddling GOP misinformation. It’s par for the course.

Now, the Hillary campaign would have the Bernie supporters think the campaign is over, even though it is highly unlikely that she can secure the necessary delegates to clinch the nomination. Reports of dirty tricks abound, such as people calling voters to tell them Bernie is out of the race and not to come out in Indiana, or the several pro-Sanders Facebook groups that were temporarily taken offline last week. When you add to the already serious allegations of voter suppression, it just gets worse and worse.

But now, we have people telling us that Hillary is the only choice to stop Donald Trump and that if we don’t vote for her then Trump is on OUR head. Classic fear or blame tactics at their finest.  No, it’s on you for not realizing that a lot of your fellow Democrats absolutely cannot STAND your candidate. Her likability has been dropping into the tank for the better part of this decade so far, this is not a new development:

The above post is from a Gallup poll taken September 4th of 2015.  Her favorability rating was already in the tank.

The worst part is that all of these people who are supposed to be our leaders are telling us that being under FBI investigation doesn’t matter anymore, basically just shrugging it off that she is being investigated for possibly misusing some of our most valuable secrets. That is the kind of stuff that can ruin careers and lives, yet the Hillary campaign is just shrugging off a major investigation by the highest law enforcement agency in the land like its no more than a small speed bump and shouldn’t even be considered when making our informed choice.

She feels bad for the young people who believe Bernie’s lies… well I feel sorry that I’ve been lied to for so many years by people like Hillary Clinton.

Well, Madame Secretary, I’m not uninformed. I’ve lived on the same Earth as you and I know your record myself, and that is why I will NOT be voting for Hillary Clinton in the upcoming election. If she is the nominee of the Democratic Party, I will be changing my registration to an independent voter and leaving the party after 20 years. You aren’t going to scare, blame or guilt Bernie supporters into voting for Hillary, so stop trying.

The Democratic Party has had the information for a long time now that a great number of Sanders supporters WILL NOT support Clinton. We are fed up with establishment politics and Clinton scandals, and we are definitely not going to vote for ANYONE who is under FBI investigation. We refuse to elect a war hawk who will send more young Americans to die as they did my father and so many others like him. We refuse to support someone who will claim they care about climate change and support fracking. We refuse to support someone who flip-flopped on gay marriage for political gain. We refuse to be lied to any longer, and we refuse to no longer have our seat at the table while entities like Goldman Sachs run roughshod over the American dream — all while filling the coffers of the Clinton family and other elites like them.

What Bernie Sanders realizes is that his job as a public servant is to SERVE THE PUBLIC! What a novel concept. Nothing about Hillary Clinton truly suggests she is out for anyone but Hillary Clinton, which is why she is as disliked as she is, even within the confines of her own party! We’re expecting her to appeal to independent voters and moderate Republicans? Is the party seeing the same data as everyone else??

Sanders supporters must continue to work hard for Bernie in the remaining contests, especially Indiana and California, and prepare to make a strong showing at the convention. There is still a path to victory, and its not some pipe-dream fairy tale like the mainstream media and her supporters would have you believe.

Twenty years a Democrat, and I see us approaching a Republican National Convention that will likely have “Make America Great Again” as a slogan, just like it was “Restoring the American Dream” in 1996.

And just like in 1996, the Democrats want me to vote for a Clinton shrouded in scandal. This time, I’m saying no.

You are either done with “the lesser evil” politics, or you aren’t.

Down With the Duggars!

I’ve talked to my future wife on many occasions about “19 Kids and Counting” — she watches the show, although we don’t believe in anything that the Duggars believe.  I’ve tried to keep quiet on social media and in my writing for a long time now, because they hadn’t really ever done anything to make me want to condemn the show.  They are just different, and they follow their god… I have no problem with that as long as it is not used as a platform to hate others.

That has changed.

There is currently a petition on Change.Org to remove the show from the air, based on comments made by Michelle Duggar, the matriarch of the Duggar Family, on a political robocall that was placed this August.  Michelle said “transgender women should not be able to use the proper restroom and dubbed them “males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female.”

It is one thing to promote your lifestyle and the teachings of your religion, it is quite different to use that religion to promote hate and inequality to groups of HUMANS that are different than you.

For the record, both my fiancee and I are heterosexual and still find this to be truly appalling.   I would term us as “secular humanists” or you could call us atheists, who believe that ALL humans should be afforded the same HUMAN rights as everyone else.  The same rights that this family would themselves demand.

Their eldest child, Josh Duggar, is also part of a legislative group known as FRC Action, which is notorious for attempting to link homosexuality and pedophilia, which fits right in with Michelle Duggar’s comments on that robocall.

We can’t allow people to use the platform they have been gifted in order to preach the hatred of other human beings, especially when they are going to attempt to use their religion to justify it.  Christians are famous for saying “Only God can judge me” — why is it that they think that have the right to pass judgement and hatred off on other human beings?

This show needs to be taken off the air immediately.  Take a stand against hatred and sign the petition today to remove “19 Kids and Counting” from TLC.

Roger Goodell leaves his decisions up to scrutiny…AGAIN.

The NFL is in the news again for the wrong reasons, with the announcement that Adrian Peterson will be suspended without pay for the remainder of the 2014 NFL campaign.

Commissioner Roger Goodell had every chance to do things the right way in this instance, but it appears that he has failed again, even though he makes 44 million dollars per year.

Goodell’s new domestic violence policy, started in August, now calls for a six-game suspension without pay for a first-time offender of the policy.  Adrian Peterson has now missed nine games on the “exempt” list, with pay, since he was first charged with felony child abuse earlier this year.

Peterson’s camp is saying that NFL executives had told him that his time on the exempt list would be counted as time served.  Now that the actual punishment has been imposed, Peterson will miss the remaining six games of this season, and is not even eligible for reinstatement until the 15th of April of next year.

I don’t condone Adrian Peterson’s actions — I find them deplorable.  I am just looking at current NFL policy and the fact that the league’s executives do not appear to be on the same page, and Peterson’s career and future are unduly hampered by this punishment.  With Peterson unable to be reinstated until at least next April, he won’t be able to find a new team if the Vikings release him, as expected.

Is this fair?  Peterson will essentially be suspended for a total of 15 games, and even then he is not guaranteed reinstatement in April.  The policy calls for 6 games, and he’ll serve the six games and then still have to wait months to be reinstated?

As fans of the greatest sport on Earth, we need to voice our displeasure with Commissioner Goodell.  He should not be allowed to just make up the rules as he goes along, especially considering that these things have been collectively bargained with the players union.  This policy was JUST put in place in August, and the commissioner is already straying from it, and it needs to stop.
